Victorious Voices is a high-energy spoken word festival where youth take centre stage. Founded by three time Victoria Poetry Slam Grand Champion Jeremy Loveday and approaching its sixteenth year, Vic Voices is one of Victoria’s most anticipated annual arts and cultural events.
How does it work?!
Young poets form teams within their schools and all gather for one night to compete in a poetry slam. What’s a poetry slam, you ask? A poetry slam is a (fairly silly) competition, in which random members of the audience assign poems scores between 0 and 10. Poets are required to perform poems of their own original creation, within set time limits, and without use of props, costumes, or musical accompaniment.
