we have been the home of spoken word on lekwungen territory since 2005.

we recognize that our work occurs primarily in what’s now known as victoria, on the unceded territory of the lekwungen peoples, now known as the esquimalt and songhees first nations, as well as on other unceded territories on lower vancouver island.

Come on out, from your kitchen, to our qualifier slam to see who will represent Victoria Poetry Project at the Canadian Indie Poetry Slam Championships in Vancouver from April 22-May 1st. 5 poets, only one will be crowned the winner, by you, the judges.

The Canadian Indie Poetry slam Championship is one month away. It is held as part of the verses festival hosted by @vancouverpoetryhouse.
