victoria poetry project society respectfully recognizes our work occurs primarily on the unceded territory of the Lekwungen peoples, today known as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations, as well as on other traditional, ancestral and unceded territories on land colonially known as southern Vancouver Island. we recognize the colonial violence that led to the creation of Victoria, and how colonial funding allows our organization to exist. vpps is dedicated to active listening, learning how to be a genuine ally and proactively practicing mindful solidarity. we aim to be cognizant of who is represented on our stages and is committed to collaboration with groups who have been historically marginalized. vpps is also aware our current website accessibility needs to be improved and appreciate your patience and understanding while we continue to acquire the appropriate skills and knowledge in order to comply and support best practices.
