the Victoria Poetry Project Society has been a registered nonprofit society since 2015 and has existed as a community since 2005 on unceded traditional and ancestral territories of the LƏK̓ʷƏŊƏN-speaking peoples, now known as the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nation.
VPPS programming:
• Tongues of Fire – Open mics or poetry slams on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursdays of each month from September to May
• Victorious Voices – 3 day spoken word arts festival 2nd week of April

membership shows that we have support from our community. as well, being a member means you can help determine the direction of the organization, either by voting for the board of directors at general meetings, or joining the board of directors!

the artistic & managing director curates events and manages the organization’s finances, as well as hiring and overseeing the events coordinator and other related staff
